For the second year running, the Jeep® brand is the global partner of the World Surf League and will be supporting surfers that are competing in the prestigious WSL men’s and women’s 2016 Championship Tour (CT). After the first 2016 competitions in Australia, Brazil and Fiji, the Tour and its champions have arrived in South Africa to take part in the J-Bay Open from July 6th – 17th, the first of four events to be held in the EMEA region this season.
The full calendar of competitions scheduled to take place in EMEA in 2016 include: the Cascais Women’s Pro in Portugal (September 24 – October 2, 2016), the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro France (Hossegor, October 4 – 15, 2016) and the Moche Rip Curl Pro Portugal (Peniche, October 18 – 29, 2016).
The iconic Jeep models are showcased throughout the tour and are available for exclusive shuttle services of the Jeep WSL ambassadors. The Brazilian champion Filipe Toledo and the talented Italian surfer Roberto D’Amico – world-class surfers – are Jeep Ambassadors for 2016.
At each leg, the “Jeep Lounge,” a dedicated, branded area, will be set up to allow visitors and surf enthusiasts to book a test drive on Jeep models and collect information on the complete Jeep range.
The partnership with the World Surf League (WSL) – a global agreement that sees the Jeep brand as the WSL’s exclusive automotive Global Partner – was established in 2015 with the scope of further strengthening the connection with the world of surfing.
Indeed, surfing embodies the brand’s core values and the spirit of freedom, passion and adventure that distinguish all models in the Jeep range. Both Jeep and the WSL share a common purpose of being perfectly at one with the environment and with nature, and the desire to go beyond the limits to live unique experiences. This is the fascination of surfing, which is not just a dynamic sport, but a distinctive lifestyle shared by all surfers as well as Jeep owners and fans, who are always ready to follow their adventurous spirit, have fun with their vehicles and are not afraid to tackle the most extreme and hostile terrains in the same way surfers challenge the forces of the sea.
