Until now, the 2016 Hilux has been as elusive as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. But now the much-anticipated pick-up has finally been snapped.
The spies at WorldCarFans have managed to get some pictures of the new Toyota being tested in the south of Europe, with an Amarok being used as benchmark.
Thanks to all that camouflage, it’s tough to tell what the Hilux will look like, but it is immediately obvious that it has grown in size, now boasting the same sort of dimensions as the Ford Ranger and VW Amarok.
The LED headlights and rather small new grille is also obvious. The sides are quite flat, not sporting much in the way of wheel arches.
Obviously, no info is available yet on what will be lurking under the bonnet of the new Hilux, but it is good to see that the vehicle is being tested. Hopefully it won’t be long until the company gives us an official look at the bakkie.
