Audi has introduced an ultra fuel-efficient model of the new Q7 in the UK.
It uses the 3,0-litre turbodiesel motor used in other models, but it has been detuned to provide 160kW and 500Nm of torque.
That’s still a lot of power, but even so Audi claims it will only consume an average of 6,6l/100km, which is impressive for such a large, powerful SUV.
On the flipside, the loss in power hasn’t had a drastic effect on performance. Instead of taking 6,3 seconds to sprint to 100km/h, it now takes 7,1 seconds to do the same.
In the UK this particular model is also the cheapest in the range, which may just make it the best out of the lot.
It’s not yet clear whether this model will be included in the SA line-up when it’s launched later this year.
