Despite the fact that it is no longer in production, Brabus has created an upgrade kit for the SWB G-Class.
Brabus is a very respectable German tuning house, so when it decides to tackle a specific vehicle, people tend to sit up and take notice. And now the company has created an upgrade kit for the SWB G-Class, which Mercedes-Benz stopped producing in 2011.
As usual, Brabus’ work is rather unsubtle. Their G-Class sports massive 22-inch wheels, as well as the company’s Widestar body kit.
The vehicle Brabus used is one of the last short-wheelbase Gelandewagens Mercedes-Benz produced – the G500 BA3 Final Edition, which has a 5,5-litre V8 powerplant. Brabus hasn’t revealed what it has done under the bonnet of the G-Class, but the vehicle does have “6.1” lettering on its body, so its safe to assume the engine has been beefed up from 5,5-litre to 6,1-litre.
We’ll let you know as soon as more information is revealed.
