Chevrolet has taken the wraps off its Niva Concept – a vehicle that apparently previews the company’s upcoming Niva production vehicle.
The production version will apparently arrive in 2016, and is inspired by the Lada Niva of old, which Chevrolet now owns the rights to.
What is certain, is that the production version probably won’t be as extreme as this funky concept. As seen in the photos, it has a roof rack, raised suspension, off-road tyres, winch, snorkel and spotlights.
Power is provided by a 1,8-litre petrol mill that’s mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It apparently also has a lockable centre differential and an AWD system. More technical info will hopefully be revealed soon.
