We’ve known for a long time that Land Rover is working on go-faster versions of models in its line-up.
The first is the Range Rover Sport SVR, which makes sense, but the fact that the Defender is second in line to receive the SVR treatment came as a bit of a surprise.
When you think about it, it does make some sense, as it’s a great way to say goodbye to the ageing Defender.
We have no news on the engine or other drivetrain components, but we hope the Defender SVR will be equipped with Land Rover’s new supercharged 5,0-litre petrol V8.
