Sergio Marchionne, the ceo of Fiat Chrysler, has revealed some information on the Jeep Wrangler’s replacement.
In an interview with Automotive News, he mentioned that the new model make use of an aluminium body.
It might also dump the box-on-frame construction of the current model, in favour of a unibody setup.
Lastly, Jeep is considering using small capacity engines with turbochargers, which may just anger fans of the naturally-aspirated 4,0-litre V6.
Nothing is official yet, but if Marchionne’s comments are anything to go by, the new Wrangler is going to be a giant leap forward compared to the current model.
