A generation update for the Honda CR-V was launched in Cape Town last week, and pricing and specifications for the updated version of the Japanese company’s popular SUV have become available.
Petrol and diesel engines will be available, with the former coming in 2,0 or 2,4 litre form.
The 2,0 litre is to be made available in Comfort trim. Here, two drivetrains are avialable, the choice being between a front-wheel drive with six-speed manual gearbox or an all-wheel drive with a five-speed automatic ‘box. The 2,0 litre engine produces 1174kW and 192Nm of torque.
The 2,4 litre engine, producinig 140kW and 220Nm of torque, is available in Elegance and Executive trim, and is paired with a five-speed ‘box and all-wheel drive.
The diesel version comes only with the 2,2 litre engine, producing 110kW and 350Nm of torque, peaking at 2000 r/min. This comes with either a five-speed auto or six-speed manual ‘box, and only in all-wheel drive. Here, trim choices include Elegance and Executive.

The new CR-V comes with a long list of features, includinig a CD/iPOD, USB and Aux capable audio system, dual-zone climate control, electric windows and mirrors, satelite controls on the steering wheel, ABS, EBD, brake assist, hill start assist, front and rear fog lights, daytime running lights and six airbags with Isofix anchors on the seats.
