Someone apparently snapped a pic of the upcoming XC90 R-Design during an internal Volvo presentation.
The picture was posted on the Swedespeed forum, and reportedly shows what the R-Design version of Volvo’s new XC90 will look like. According to the person who posted the photo, the person blocking the view of the vehicle is actually Volvo’s head of design Thomas Ingenlath.
Could this image be real? It certainly looks real to us, but it also seems a tad, well, conservative. Sure, it boasts aggressive alloy wheels and its wheel arches have been tweaked slightly, but the overall design stays fairly close to that of the standard version.
But then again, the R-Design models usually don’t boast any mechanical upgrades, and are available with the same engine options as the standard version, so perhaps it’s a good thing that the design isn’t too sporty.
