Jeep recalls Cherokee after hacking

Fiat Chrysler is recalling 1,4 million vehicles for an infotainment software update.

This follows a widely published hack of a Jeep Cherokee that was brought to a standstill on a highway after hackers gained access to its brain.

The software upgrade will block hackers from remotely accessing all models with this infotainment system. The cars affected include the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee.

It’s not yet clear whether SA is included in this recall.
