Kia has unveiled a new concept vehicle in India, at the AutoExpo 2018. The slick-looking SUV has been dubbed the SP Concept.
The car is bound for the Indian market initially and although the concept is “a little bit exaggerated,'” according to Peter Schreyer, Chief Design Officer of KIA Motors Corporation, “the actual production car will be very close to what you see here at AutoExpo 2018.”
The compact SUV has a long bonnet profile, “futuristic details” and features Kia’s signature “Tiger Nose” grille.
The headlamps are divided into two, with the upper lamps flowing into the grille and the concept has retractable door handles similar to those found on the Range Rover Velar.
Although Kia has not released official images of the rear and the interior of the vehicle, these can be seen in the video below. Kia says that the “trendy cabin design” features “eye-catching, high-tech elements.” Inside the dash boasts an extremely large, double display module. The automatic gear lever is sleek looking, as is the rest of the interior with its clean lines.
The SP Concept is expected to launch in the subcontinent in September 2019.
