Mercedes-Benz has announced that the iconic G-Class will receive a very significant facelift in 2017.
The G-Class will apparently lose around 200kg of weight thanks to increased use of aluminium, and its width will increase by 100mm. The front suspension will also be tweaked, receiving a three- or four-link arrangement.
The interior will be tweaked in order to increase spaciousness and comfort, and the 4×4 will get some bits and pieces from the upcoming C-Class.
Under the bonnet, the G-Class will get a new three-litre petrol mill and a new three-litre oilburner, both from the new E-Class. Both will be mated to the company’s new nine-speed automatic gearbox.
