Following a number of leaks on the internet, Mercedes-Benz has finally decided publish the details surrounding its most luxurious SUV to date, the GLS.
The GLS is an updated version of the GL, but the modifications aren’t limited to an extra letter in the nomenclature.
The exterior features new headlights with LED bulbs and a more pronounced grille, but other than that, it looks pretty much the same as before.
The interior still houses seven seats and an awful lot of luxury features, but the biggest change with regards to layout is the display on the centre console. Instead of being integrated into the centre console, it now sits separately on top, as is the case with other Mercedes models.
Numerous engines will be on offer, starting with the 350d, which pushes out a healthy 190kW and 616Nm of torque. The flagship AMG model is equipped with a biturbo V8 that develops 430kW and 760Nm of torque.
No release date has been set, but it will likely arrive in SA during 2016.
