What do you buy for the oil sheikh who has everything? Well, even if he’s grown bored with Zondas, Veyrons and Koenigseggs, Merc’s latest addition to the G-Class range might still be able to pique his interest.
The company has created a 6×6 version of the ridiculously plush G63 AMG that has a load area, making it arguably the most eye-catching (and expensive) bakkie in the world.
The vehicle is powered by a V8 with two turbos that pushes out 294 kW. It has no less than five diff locks, so off-road ability promises to be pretty amazing. It also has chunky tyres that can deal with ugly terrain, and there is a compressed air system that allows you to inflate them instantly.
Getting your hands on one won’t be easy. Mercedes-Benz will apparently only build around 20 each year, and the 6×6 G63 will be one of the company’s most expensive models. Fuel economy also promises to be horrific, but if you’re an oil sheikh, that shouldn’t be a problem.
