Mitsubishi is well-known for listening to customer feedback and improving their cars accordingly. The latest model to receive some upgrades is the Pajero Sport.
“We continuously conduct market research to determine how the Mitsubishi Motors designers and engineers could improve the driving experience of our range of vehicles, hence strengthening our already loyal customer base,” says Nic Campbell, General Manager at Mitsubishi Motors South Africa. “This keeps Mitsubishi Motors on the forefront of innovation and cutting-edge technology. This kind of forward thinking and moving will ensure that Mitsubishi Motors remains progressive.”
Already boasting various active and passive safety features among a host of luxury appointments, the designers improved the Pajero Sport’s safety by adding ISO-FIX child seat anchors as part of Mitsubishi Motors’ trusted pedigree of providing progressive, robust, tough, reliable and safe products.
Apart from the additional child seat safety, a seventh airbag for the protection of the driver’s knees in the case of an accident has also been added.
The 2.4-litre turbocharged diesel remains as is, producing 133kW at 3 500 rpm and 430Nm of torque at 2 500 rpm, driving the wheels through its 8-speed Automatic Transmission with Intelligent Shift Control, the Pajero Sport 4×2 now boasts a Towing Mass of 2 700 kg, with the 4×4 derivative now able to tow a trailer or off-road caravan up to 2 790 kg.
Pricing remains the same as before. The Pajero Sport starts at R569 995 for the 4×2 8-speed A/T with Intelligent Shift Control and R619 995 for the 4×4 featuring Mitsubishi Motors’ unique Super Select II 4WD system with electronic Off-road Assistance for improved driver control and passenger safety.
The Pajero Sport is covered by a 3-year / 100 000 km manufacturer’s warranty and a 5-year / 90 000 km service plan with 10 000 km service intervals.
