The new facelifted Nissan X-Trail is available in South Africa with a choice of eight derivatives, three of which are seven-seaters.
The engine choice begins with the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 106kW and 200Nm, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. This engine is available in the base Visia trim, with the choice of a five or seven-seater model.
Following the 2.0-litre in the line-up is a 1.6-litre turbo diesel mill (96kw and 300Nm), also mated to a six-speed manual transmission. This engine option comes in the seven-seater 1.6dCi Visia model and is also available with 4×4 capability in the top Tekna trim level.
The third available engine is the 2.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit, which produces 126kW and 233Nm tied to a choice of manual or continuously variable (automatic) transmission. All of the X-Trails with this engine have 4×4 capability and can be had with the Acenta or range-topping Tekna trim.
