The new PEUGEOT 2008 will hit South African shores in September 2016. The exact model range is still to be decided but it will be more extensive than the current range.
This compact SUV’s design includes wheel arch extensions, a new vertical front grille and scuff plates to protect the body.
The new GT Line trim adds a sporty theme. This trim, common to the entire range, is consistent with the brand’s upgrading strategy.
An adapted traction system, known as Grip Control, is available in the petrol and Diesel version, in manual or automatic.
On-board connectivity includes the Mirror Screen feature which allows the driver to link their MirrorLinkTM or Apple Carplay® compatible smartphone to the touch screen.
The range is composed of Euro 6 PureTech and BlueHDi engines, in manual and automatic. Offering power ratings of 60 to 97kW.
The new generation of PureTech 3-cylinder petrol engines are light and according to the manufacturer efficient, “Compared with a similar 4-cylinder engine, the naturally-aspirated version is 21kg lighter and the turbo-charged version 12kg lighter. Four types of engine are Best-in-Class in their segment, including the new 1.2L PureTech 130 S&S 6-speed manual gearbox.”
The petrol range of the new SUV 2008 includes a choice of five engines:

1.2L PureTech 82, 5-speed electronically-controlled gearbox, 4.4l/100km, with CO2 at 102g/km,
1.2L PureTech 110 S&S, 5-speed manual gearbox, 4.4l/100km, with CO2 at 103g/km,
1.2L PureTech 110 S&S, 6-speed automatic gearbox (EAT6), 4.8l/100km, with CO2 at 110g/km, Best-in-Class in its segment,
1.2L PureTech 130 S&S, 6-speed manual gearbox (EAT6), 4.8l/100km, with CO2 at 110g/km, Best-in-Class in its segment.
The Diesel range of the new SUV 2008 includes a choice of six engines, all of them with CO2 emissions at less than 100g/km:
1.6L BlueHDi 75, 5-speed manual gearbox, 3.7l/100km, with CO2 at 97g of CO2/km, Best-in-Class in its segment,
1.6L BlueHDi 100, 5-speed manual gearbox, 3.7l/100km, with CO2 at 97g/km,
1.6L BlueHDi 100 S&S, 5-speed manual gearbox, 3.5l/100km, with CO2 at 90g/km, fuel economy version,
