Peugeot has revealed its new Quartz concept at the Paris Motor Show.
This concept shows Peugeot’s SUV for the future, which means we’ll be seeing a toned down production version of this car in the future.
We doubt the styling will be as extreme, but we certainly hope the engine makes it into production.
It’s a petrol hybrid powertrain, which consists of a 198kW/330Nm turbocharged 1,6-litre four-cylinder engine and an 85kW electric motor powered by a 400V battery bank. There’s also another 85kW motor at the rear, should the driver ever feel the need to drive like a proper hooligan.
The Quartz has an all-electric range of around 50km, but it also has a race mode, which makes full use of all the engines mentioned above.
No performance figures are available, but we’re inclined to think that it could be a lot of fun with that much power and 350mm of ground clearance.
