It looks as if we might see a Rolls-Royce SUV as soon as 2017, though the creation of the vehicle is only in the very early stages.
Giles Taylor, head of Rolls-Royce design, recently told Autocar that the company has has started playing with a design, but that nothing is concrete yet. “We are not yet grappling with three dimensions and proportions,” he said. However, he did add that the company is looking to create a proper SUV, not a crossover.
With SUVs, especially luxury SUVs, becoming increasingly popular in places such as China, Russia and the Middle East, Rolls-Royce opting to create an SUV isn’t a big surprise. After all, companies such as Bentley and Lamborghini have also revealed that they are busy working on SUVs.
Hopefully we’ll be getting a glimpse of what Rolls-Royce is working on soon.
