The locally-produced Nissan NP200 – South Africa’s favourite half ton bakkie, consistently outperforming all competitors with more than 1,500 unit sales per month over the last year – is being upgraded.
Minor aesthetic upgrades to the interior are what can be expected on the Nissan NP200, making an already popular vehicle even more appealing. The fact that the NP200 recently won the IPSOS Quality Awards for the fourth year running in its category and that the 1.5 dCi turbodiesel model was noted as being the most fuel efficient bakkie on the market will no doubt also help sales.
The upgrades include a refreshed interior, with new upholstery and trims and a new audio system on the mid and high grade models. The new audio system offers radio, CD and MP3 options, a USB port, audio jack and Bluetooth functionality.
Production of the upgraded NP200 has already started and the first models are expected at Nissan dealers across South Africa before the holiday season.
