BMW has released a video that offers details on the X5 eDrive Concept – a vehicle that will purportedly lead to a production plug-in hybrid version of the company’s popular SUV.
The production version will apparently stick close to the concept in terms of technology, and will sport a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that’s combined with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack installed under the luggage area. The two motors combined will offer 250 kW of power and 600 Nm of torque, which is enough to get the vehicle from 0 – 100 km/h in less than seven seconds.
