VW has revealed the latest version of its Passat Alltrack, which is essentially a slightly lifted Passat station wagon, made for light off-roading.
The exterior features modified bumpers, rugged wheel arches, anthracite side body protection and 17-inch alloy wheels. The ride height has been increased by 27,5mm, which is fairly impressive for a vehicle of this kind.
It also has a special off-road driving mode, which modifies the electronic driving aids and the all-wheel drive system. Include a tow rating of 2200kg and you have the perfect vehicle for adventurous families.
Volkswagen is offering a total of five new direct fuel injection engines for the new Passat Alltrack: The powerful petrol turbocharged engines (TSI) produce 110kW and 162kW. The turbocharged diesel range’s outputs start at 110kW and go up all the way to 176kW.
As South Africans aren’t really fans of station wagons, we doubt it will ever find its way over here.
