VW Touareg R-line
Surprisingly Volkswagen has chosen its largest SUV, the Touareg, to benefit from a raft of sporty exterior changes as well as a sports suspension. Nevertheless, Touareg customers who make envious glances at people in their X5 M’s and ML 63’s, can now have their own version of a sporty SUV.
The package – on the outside
The optional R-line trim, sets itself apart from normal Touaregs by adding:
- a “matt black” diffuser,
- oval tailpipes take pride in a redesigned bumper section
- a bespoke roof spoiler
- 20-inch Mallory wheels
- a new spoiler lip add to the more aggressive tone
The Touareg is also festooned with R-line badges to remind customers they are in something a little different.
The package – on the inside
Move inside, and the interior as been blinged up, with stainless steel finding its way onto the pedals and door sills, while a heated seats and steering wheel with paddle shifts will make you want to take on that guy in the Gti. Last but not least front passengers get to experience sports leather pews.
The damage to your pocket
So if you want a sporty looking Touareg, that has a sportier set-up, VW are pegging the price at R35 000 and will be available on all their derivates.
What if I already own a Touareg?
According to VWSA’s PR, Andile Dlamini, “The R-Line package can not be retro-fitted, it can only be fitted on order during production.”
So …. no.
