Dakar 2017, stage 5 summary – car and bike

Nine-times WRC champion Sebastien Loeb had a great day in his Peugeot 3008DKR office, winning stage 5 ahead of Toyota’s Nani Roma and his team-mate Stephane Peterhansel. Peterhansel leads the rally overall, followed by Loeb (+01:09) and Cyril Despres in the third Peugeot 3008DKR (+04:54). Giniel de Villiers (Toyota Hilux) finished almost 30min behind Loeb’s Peugeot, and he’s now dropped down to 8th place overall, just over an hour behind leader Peterhansel.
