Local tuners RGMotorsport, based in Strydom Park, have supercharged an eighth-generation 4.0-litre V6 Hilux to make it the fastest bakkie in the country (and they claim, possibly the world).
The super-truck puts out 327kW and 545Nm and can sprint from 0-100km/h in 7.1 seconds, with a top speed of 227km/h. The most impressive figure however is its flexibility, making use of the six-speed auto, it powers from 80 to 160km/h in just 12.2 seconds – 10 seconds faster than the standard double cab 4×2 Hilux.
