A new Volkswagen Tiguan all-wheel-drive diesel model is set to top the local range. In November last year Volkswagen South Africa added the first TDI derivative to the line-up and this new model will further expand the range.
As reported by CAR magazine, the Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TDI 4Motion Highline comes with a four-cylinder engine that outputs 130kW of power and and 380Nm of torque mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This derivative will cost R549 500, which is R7 300 more than the 162kW 2.0 TSI 4Motion Highline variant.
A lower-spec Comfortline derivative that also has a 2.0-litre turbodiesel mill and all-wheel drive has also been added to the South African range. This model has peak output of 105kW and 340Nm and retails for R523 800.
With these two new variants the local Tiguan line-up comprises seven models.
