Audi and Volkswagen geared up for the Festival of Motoring

Audi and Volkswagen brands will be coming together for this years’ Festival of Motoring taking place at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit from 31 August to 2 September 2018.

“Volkswagen Group South Africa (VWSA) will be out in full force at the Festival of Motoring this year. We are excited for Audi and Volkswagen fans to experience what we have on offer,” says Andile Dlamini, General Manager: Group Communications at VWSA.

The Audi and Volkswagen experience at Festival of Motoring is aimed at the whole family. Exciting action awaits the petrol-heads at the pit lanes where they could be driven in the new Volkswagen Touareg, Arteon, Golf R, Polo GTI, Audi R8 Spyder and V10 Plus, Audi RS3 Sportback and Sedan, Audi TT RS and Audi RS5 Coupe.

Motorsport fans are also in for a treat as the Audi and Volkswagen Sasol Global Touring Cars (GTC) drivers will be in action on Saturday 1 September and Sunday 2 September. The treat for Motorsport fans does not end there, as there will be an Audi Quattro motorsport vehicle on display. The legendary racing car, which won World Rally Championships between 1982 and 1984, will take you back in time and give you a sense of Audi’s strong motorsport heritage.

For the competitive at heart, head to the Skid Pan area where you can try your hand at the Volkswagen gymkhana competition in a Polo Vivo GT.  The area will also feature exciting activations for the whole family, like movie making with a giant 5-meter animatronic dinosaur, abseiling, a mobile BOUNCE TRAMPOLINE Park experience and hourly shows with the Bounce Vibe Tribe.

The challenging 4×4 course is the ideal area to put the powerful Amarok V6 to the test. For an additional adrenaline boost, give the zip-lining experience a go. There is also something for the young ones; a mini Amarok 4×4 course for young kids that will keep them entertained.

Adrenaline junkies can also experience the thrilling Audi gymkhana, which showcases the Audi A1 Sportback’s efficient handling skills around a few tight corners.

Not only will VWSA have exciting activations for the whole family to enjoy, there will also be a Blue Bike Cycling station again this year, where visitors are invited to cycle as fast and far as they can on the Blue Bike so that Volkswagen can donate bicycles to disadvantaged rural children through the Volkswagen for Good initiative.

Festival of Motoring visitors can share their Audi and Volkswagen moments with their friends and family on social media by uploading photos and videos.
