Ford Ranger Raptor: this is it!

7 February 2018

Ford’s new performance Ranger, the Ranger Raptor that will be built here in South Africa at Ford’s Silverton assembly line, has just debuted in Thailand.

The Ranger Raptor will be powered by a twin-turbo diesel engine that delivers 157kW and 500Nm, mated to a 10–speed auto gearbox.

Instead of the standard Ranger’s drum brakes, the Ranger Raptor gets huge discs. The standard leaf sprung rear suspension has been replaced with Watt’s link and coil over Fox Racing suspension (Ford says it’s,”the best suspension in the world.”

The Ranger Raptor is 1 873mm tall, 2 180mm wide and 5 398mm long, with wider front and rear tracks at 1 710mm. Ground clearance is increased to 283mm, while it has the approach angle of 32.5°, ramp over angle of 24°, and departure angle of 24°.
