Jaguar Land Rover recently confirmed that the next-generation Defender will not be built at the manufacturer’s famous plant in Solihull.
Instead, the all-new Defender will be built in Slovakia at the same plant responsible for building the Discovery.
Land Rover says that this move is going to free up capacity at Solihull for increased production of the Range Rover and a few other models, but it might also have something to do with the all-new Defender sharing many of its components with the Discovery.
As the first images of the car continue to make the rounds, the main feeling is that it will rely heavily on Discovery parts.
Nothing has been confirmed and we still have a good few months to wait before we find out.
