The Mercedes-Benz G-Class might have to move down from its spot as the most hardcore SUV on sale in the world.
The 4×4 it’ll have to move over for is called the Rezvani Tank and it’s basically a Jeep Wrangler with an extremely angry exterior.
But the Rezvani isn’t merely an exterior overhaul. One could argue that it has been overhauled so extensively that it might just count as an entirely new car.
Take the engines, for example. You can have it with the standard 3.6-litre V6 petrol, or a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel. And if that’s still not enough power, you can always opt for the 350kW 6.4-litre naturally aspirated V8, as found in the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.
And if that’s still not enough power, you can opt for a Tank equipped with the supercharged V8 from the TrackHawk.
This isn’t the first time we’re featuring a Rezvani on our website. They made some amazing products before, but the quality was somewhat iffy.
This time it features a proper luxury interior, featuring expensive leather and all of the basics you get as standard in the new Wrangler – touch screen, navigation, climate control and the lot.
But since this thing is meant for the apocalypse, you also get thermal night vision, military grade run-flat tyres, ballistic protection a self-sealing tank and bumpers designed for actual bumping. Also, don’t forget about the smoke bombs, gas masks, first aid kit and EMP protection.
The cost for the supercharged model is around R5.5 million.
