It’s about that time in the Volkswagen Touareg’s life when a facelift is due, three-years into its life cycle this is to be expected of any German marque.
The refreshed SUV was spotted by numerous publications in the European Alps. Although the revisions were disguised, it is clear that the front and rear-end will receive styling changes . The facelift may have hints of the recently facelifted Tiguan and new Golf 7 thrown in to its design.
The interior updates are merely a product of speculation at this point but the little evidence presented suggests an updated infotainment system and the addition of a few niceties introduced into some of the more recent Volkswagen products.
Another potentially important change will see the addition of a two-litre TDI engine to the lower end of the range while the 3-litre TDI V6 will receive a power bump to 191kW (up from 176 kW). The updated Touareg is expected to make its debut in the middle of 2014.
