It seems as if Nissan might be considering a Range Rover Evoque-styled version of its new Qashqai.
The launch of the Evoque a couple of years ago showed that there is quite a market for crossover coupes. The Evoque has been selling very well, and other manufacturers are now also attempting to enter this lucrative segment. And Nissan is apparently one of them.
According to Automotive News Europe, Nissan Europe’s general manager for product planning and strategy Marco Fioravanti stated that a coupe version of the Qashqai could be very successful in Europe.
“We are observing the moves of other automakers such as Audi, Honda and Volvo. We will not stand watching,” Fioravanti reportedly told Automotive News Europe.
What do you think about this? Will a coupe version of the Qashqai be a success? Based on the success of the previous Qashqai, as well as the Juke, we suspect that Nissan might just be able to produce a winner, were they to venture down this path.
