Subaru’s Outback is scheduled for an update, and those crafty spies at Carscoops have nabbed some pics of the 2015 model being tested.
Although the Outback isn’t a massive seller in SA, it does very well in other parts of the world, especially in the United States. In fact, after the Forester, the Outback is Subaru’s biggest seller in America. The company sold a massive 118 049 Outbacks in the US last year, so getting the 2015 model right is important.
In SA, the Outback has also received some positive press lately, having won the Leisure Wheels and CAR Magazine 2014 SUV TowCAR of the Year competition. The vehicle beat out popular vehicles such as the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Wrangler and Land Rover Freelander to win the title as best sub-R500 000 SUV towcar.
Admittedly, these early spy shots don’t reveal too much, but the basic shape looks promising. And moreover, there are rumours that Subaru will be unveiling the 2015 Outback at the New York Auto Show, which is taking place in the middle of April, so hopefully we don’t have too long to wait before we get a proper glimpse of the vehicle.
