Autoblog has spotted Renault’s engineers testing the company’s new crossover, which will be based on the underpinnings of the recently-released Nissan Qashqai.
Until now, Renault has been competing in the competitive compact crossover segment with the Koleos, which is a re-badged version of he South Korean Renault Samsung QM5.
The company’s new SUV, however, will be based on the Nissan Qashqai, and based on this spy photo, one can certainly see the influence of the Qashqai in the design.
It isn’t clear yet whether the vehicle will retain the Koleos name, or whether it will get an entirely new name. Realistically, it will probably hit showroom floors in around 18 months.
