Technology company Delphi has announced plans to send an autonomous Audi Q5 on a cross-country trip through the US from one coast to the other.
The company’s self-driving Audi S Q5 will set off from the Golden Gate Bridge on 22 March 2015, and travel 5632km to other side of the United States.
Delphi chief technology officer Jeff Owens said that: “Delphi had great success testing its car in California and on the streets of Las Vegas. Now it’s time to put our vehicle to the ultimate test by broadening the range of driving conditions.” He added “This drive will help us collect invaluable data in our quest to deliver the best automotive grade technologies on the market.”
