An extreme off-roading version of the new Land Rover Discovery is in the pipeline, according to John Edwards, the head of JLR’S Special Vehicle Operations (SVO).
The Jaguar Land Rover executive told Auto Express the following,“I can’t tell you what the SV version of the Discovery will be like, but in my mind it will be in between Paris Dakar and Camel Trophy. Somewhere in there is a product waiting to get out.”
Although no other details wee provided Auto Express speculates it will have a reworked chassis, big off-road tyres, spotlights, lots of body cladding and the SVO badge.
It could well be based on the 3.0-litre Discovery TDV6 derivative, with enhanced peak outputs.
