Scott Ramsay has been at it for a year – traveling to 31 of South Africa’s nature reserves and sharing his stories and encounters in depth as he went along. During his last visit in this series, he spent some time in Africa’s oldest game reserve, Hluhluwe-iMfolozi in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Despite its relatively small size, it is among the most beautiful of the Big Five reserves in South Africa. Currently the park protects about 10% of the world’s white rhinos, as well as about 5% of the black rhinos. Read Scott’s inspiring story about Hluhluwe and the plight (and history) of these rhinos in our February issue, which will be on the shelves until mid February.
