Here are few more images of VW’s facelifted Amarok, expected in SA early in 2017.
The 2017 Amarok will be powered by a 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine, available with three power outputs: 120kW, 150kW and 165kW. The 165kW version offers 550Nm of torque and can do 0-100km/h in 7.9 seconds, with the top speed rated at 193km/h. A choice of manual or an eight-speed automatic gearbox will be available on the entry level models.
New electrically adjustable seats for the driver and front passenger will be available on some of the models. These seat are adjustable in 14-ways and will feature nappa leather trim, contrasting stitching, and heating.
The instrument panel has been redesigned to have a more angular look and the top-of-the-range model features a colour 3D display between the instruments. VW have added what they call the digital voice enhancement which passengers in the rear to hear the driver’s voice amplified by the rear speakers, negating the driver’s need to turn around to be heard.
