As the UK prepares for the first shipment of the XC90 T8 Twin Engine, Volvo has released a new batch of images.
The hybrid SUV’s powertrain consists of a turbocharged/supercharged 238kW four-cylinder 2.0-litre petrol engine that drives the front wheels and a rear-mounted 64kW electric motor driving the rear. Volvo has also installed a 19kW starter motor between the engine and the eight-speed automatic gearbox, to fill in the torque where necessary and smoothing the transition between driving modes.
The combined power output is 303kW and the combined torque 640Nm. It reaches 100kph in 5.6 seconds, has a pure electric range of 41km and Volvo claims fuel economy to be as low as 2.1 L per 100km.
