This camping or lodging adventure tour is aimed at all types of motorcycles (sport, tour and dual purpose). Come and experience the Makgadikgadi Pans, Chobe elephants, Victoria Falls, Zambezi River and Tiger Fishing in the Okavango Delta. This is a pillion friendly tour.

Botswana around the Delta package itinerary

Day 1: Kalahari
Depart early and follow a scenic route through the western regions of South Africa to the Botswana border. After border formalities, use the Trans Kalahari freeway to your first overnight stop. Dinner will be served in the heart of the famous Kalahari.

Day 2: Okavango Delta
Depart after breakfast on a ride through virgin Kalahari and take in the spectacular scenery. Travel through the arid “Land of the Bushman” with its wide open spaces to the Okavango Delta, where the crystal clear waters of the Okavango River beckons the weary traveler closer to this unique eco-system. Your campsite is situated on the banks of this wonder water world.

Day 3: Okavango Delta
What more can be said about the incredible Okavango Delta – all 18 000 square kilometers of it? Use your rest day today to go birding and fishing. Boats and fishing tackle are available for hire. Watch out for the magnificent Fish Eagles, Hippos, Crocodiles and Otters while trying to grasp the fact that 250 km down stream of your location this breathtaking expanse of water disappears under the warm sands of the Kalahari.

Day 4: Namibia
Enjoy a relaxing breakfast, exit Botswana and ride into Namibia. The road takes you through the Mahango National Park. Follow the B8, cross the Okavango river, enter the Caprivi Game Park and ride 90km while on the look out for Elephant crossing the road. Exit the park, cross the Kwando River and ride the last 110 km to the mighty Zambezi River.

Day 5: Chobe National Park
Breakfast is at the campsite and you are not in a big rush today. Depart from the campsite, ride south and cross back into Botswana, enter the Chobe National Park and ride to your camp on the eastern border of the Park. Keep your eyes open for game on this road. Set up camp for 3 days on the banks of the Chobe River.

Day 6: Chobe National Park
What you do today is up to you! The early morning game drive into Chobe National Park could offer some exciting game viewing opportunities. If early mornings are not your thing then sleep late and take advantage of the rest day. After lunch head to the river for the Chobe River Boat cruise. This is an incredible game viewing experience with fantastic photo opportunities.

Day 7: Victoria Falls
Today is another leisure day. Take a transfer by mini bus to Zimbabwe to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls – The Smoke that Thunders. There will be enough time to explore the Falls, maybe bungee jump or just amble through the market before heading back. Late afternoon transfer back to Botswana after yet another “hard day in Africa”.

Day 8: Makgadikgadi Pans
Depart from the northernmost part of Botswana and head south. Ride through Botswana’s pristine wilderness areas to the Makgadikgadi Pans area. Your night is spent at a funky campsite with completely different scenery.

Day 9: Makgadikgadi Pans
Makgadikgadi Pans! – “…. it is extremely difficult to describe the atmosphere that enfolds this vast expanse of 12 000 km² of nothingness, the subtle hues at sunset that change the landscape into a wonderland of surrealistic beauty….” (Veronica Roodt) A pan ride awaits those who are interested. You are most welcome to chill around the pool or take in the myriad of ‘upside down trees’.

Day 10: Limpopo
Heading towards the Limpopo River, ride via the second largest town in Botswana, Francistown, and then on to your campsite on the banks of the Limpopo River.

Sundowners and dinner will be served on the deck overlooking this historical river.

Day 11: Johannesburg
After crossing the border into South Africa, head to your breakfast stop and then continue riding through the scenic Bushveld and Waterberg Mountains to your destination, Johannesburg.
