March 2019

March 2019 Issue

Last month we had some fun and took a Bajaj Qute up a mountain pass. It is a tiny car and it was quite an adventure getting it up there. Well this month we follow a couple of gals who drive a pit bike – you know, those tiny bikes they use at racing tracks – from Cape Town to Jozi. We continue the mountain pass theme, too, as we see how the Suzuki Club gets on tackling 13 (or more) mountain passes.

In our previous issue we featured Part 1 of our 50 lighthouses story, following Derick Lategan as he attempted to visit all 50 of our country’s lighthouses to celebrate his 50th birthday. The story continues in the March issue.

If you’ve been following our Haval Shesha project then you won’t want to miss finding out what we’ve done with her this time round.

Wasn’t there something else… oh yes, just the small matter of a road test with the brand, spanking new Rav4, which we got to drive in Spain. Is it better than ever? You’ll have to read more to find out.

As usual, you’ll find Johan Badenhorst and Kingsley Holgate, letting us in on what they’re up to, as well as an interview with the off-road legend Alfie Cox.
Our Buying Used section looks at the true cost of 100 000km while our Tech section looks at Unichip technology.

Our Gear sections this month focus on hovercraft and alternatives to fixing your car’s air-con while Gatsrivier in the Karoo is our campsite under the spotlight this month.

As if that isn’t enough, there’s Photo Focus, News, Retro and a Renault Duster 1.5dCi EDC test.
