Land Rover have released another interesting video hot on the heels of the video of a Range Rover driving over a paper bridge. Here the Range Rover Sport SVR, the fastest and most powerful product from Land Rover, is driven on a replica of the Silverstone circuit, carved onto a frozen lake.
Polar explorer and Land Rover ambassador Ben Saunders gets instructions on ice driving from former Finish rally champion Minna Sillankorva.
“Obviously, I had an amazing day. It was my first time driving on ice and the most fun I’ve had on four-wheels. The performance of the Range Rover Sport SVR is simply breathtaking and its poise in the corners was astounding given the slippery conditions”, said Ben Saunders.
The Range Rover Sport SVR uses a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine, rated at 404kW and 680 Nm of torque, connected to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. From 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h), the model needs just 4.5 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 260 km/h.
When it was introduced more than a year ago, the SUV managed to lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife in just 8 minutes and 14 seconds, the fastest time ever recorded by a vehicle in its class.
