The Jaguar F-Pace won the coveted WCOTY prize in April this year, but the firm confirmed to AutoExpress that it won’t be able to defend its title next year, as the E-Pace and I-Pace models will not be available globally by 28 March when the winners will be announced at the New York International Auto Show.
However, sister brand Land Rover will have two formidable entries in the 2018 competition, the Discovery and Range Rover Velar.
Some of the other 4×4 and SUV competitors include the Jeep Compass, Renault Duster, Volvo XC60, Subaru XV, BMW X3, Peugeot 3008, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Kona. Some of the vehicles included on the list, such as the BMW X2 and Volvo XC40 have yet to launch.
