The Tokyo Motor Show was a bit weak as far as new car launches are concerned, but it delivered on of the most impressive Suzuki Jimny modifications we’ve seen so far.
The Jimny you see here was created by a bunch of students from Japan’s Nihon Automobile College. They call it the Jimny Adventure and it was built to tackle the most extreme terrain on the planet.
The modifications include hardcore springs and shocks, as well as huge off-road tyres.
In addition to modifying the body in order to fit all the new components, certain changes were also made to bring the driver closer to nature.
In order to achieve this goal, the doors and roof were removed. To increase the rigidity, steel tubes were wrapped around the exterior. On the inside it features Recaro seats.
The 1.5-litre engine remains unchanged and is mated to the standard four-speed automatic.
It doesn’t matter really, because even with all these modifications, this particular Jimny still weighs in at just over 1 000kg.
