There’s a deep satisfaction watching a luxury SUV do what the manufacturer claims it can do.
The UAE is well known for their love of luxury SUVs, and the abundance of sand. The SUV lifestyle is understandable, fuel is cheap and premium cars are affordable in a relative comparison of salary, and sand storms are a thing that SUVs cope with better.
There’s a massive 4×4 community in the UAE, weekends are spent playing in the dunes. And it’s not limited to traditional 4x4s, everything and anything is put through it’s paces and many cars are found wanting. This Rolls Royce Sapphire Black Cullinan was taken into the dunes by it’s owner who wanted to put the Magic Carpet Ride Suspension to the test, and he very kindly filmed it and shared it with the world.
ROLLS-ROYCE CULLINAN
The Cullinan is built on a lightweight platform, the self-leveling suspension is the pinnacle of passenger comfort and vehicle capability. Equipped with four-wheel drive and larger struts purpose-built for doing exactly this in the video. Powered by a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 the focus is on delivering 850 Nm at 1 600 rpm, and 420 kW at 5 000 rpm.
