Audi has released a teaser image showing a glimpse of the rear of the all-new Q5 SUV that will debut at next week’s Paris Motor Show.
It doesn’t show much beyond the reshaped rear lamps of the new SUV. However, Autoexpress has an image that shows more details such as the hexagonal front grille, slimmer headlamps than those on the model it replaces and triple-slat air intakes.
The second-generation Q5 will move onto the VW Group’s MLB platform. This platform has the same mechanical make-up of chassis, engines and technology that is used in the already popular MQB set-up, but instead of having engines mounted transversely, it is based around longitudinal engines.
Using the same components that underpin the latest A4, Audi will be able to save a significant amount of weight with the new Q5, which is expected to be as much as 100kg lighter than the outgoing model.
