The new Peugeot 3008 SUV and larger 5008 SUV have debuted at this year’s Paris Auto Show.
Wanting to tap into the booming SUV segment, the French car maker recently changed its strategy and transformed its two MPVs into crossovers.
The new 3008, built on the EMP2 modular platform, claims to be up to 100kg lighter than its predecessor. It also offers Peugeot’s i-Cockpit design language in its hi-tech cabin.
Expected to go on sale towards the end of the year, the 3008 will offer a wide array of petrol and diesel engine, ranging from the entry-level 95kW 1.2-litre PureTech to the 132kW 2.0-litre BlueHDi.
The larger 5008 offers the same engines as the 3008, also features the i-Cockpit philosophy and is lighter than its predecessor because it sits on an enlarged version of the new EMP2 platform.
