BMW plans to bolster it SUV range by adding two new SUVs, namely the X7 and X2. The X7 will be BMW’s largest SUV and is scheduled to be introduced later this year before going on sale in 2018. Spy shots and a video of the X7 have emerged from UK motoring press company Motor1.
The video lets you hear the X7’s engine, which sounds like a it could be a V8 in this case. The top of the range X7 is expected to be powered by a V12 borrowed from the 7 Series, while six cyclinder engines will most likely be fitted to most X7s. There are also rumours about a hybridized powertrain will be available but and although details about the alternatively powered X7 are not available at this point, chances are the hardware will be borrowed from the 740e that has a turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol engine with an electric motor to deliver a combined 240kW and 500Nm.
