Toyota has unveiled the 2018 Land Cruiser Prado at the Frankfort Motor Show, which gets quite a few changes.
The change to the front grille is immediately noticeable with the stripey metal getting large openings to ensure effective engine cooling.
The body-on-frame SUV has gained 60 millimeters in length compared to its predecessor and gets a reshaped front bumper and new fenders, as well as changes to the the rear bumper. New alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 19 inches have been added and the taillights are now equipped with LEDs for braking.
Avant-Garde Bronze metallic and Midnight Emerald Blue have been added to the existing eight shades of paint.

Inside, the new Land Cruiser gains a bigger eight-inch infotainment system display, a 4.2-inch color central screen in the instrument cluster, white illumination for the instrument panel and a new steering wheel borrowed from the Land Cruiser V8.
Available in more than 190 countries, Toyota has revealed the engine options that will be available across Europe.
These include the 2.8 D-4D four-cylinder diesel engine, which develops 130 kW at 3 400 rpm and 370Nm of torque at only 1 200 rpm and a maximum 450Nm of torque between 1 600 and 2 400 rpm, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 12.7 seconds, and has a top speed of 175 km/h. Claimed average fuel consumption is 7.4 l/100 km.
The same engine mated to the six-speed manual transmission, develops a maximum 420Nm of torque between 1 400 and 2 600 rpm. It will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 12.1 seconds, and has a top speed of 175 km/h with the same claimed average fuel consumption as the 2.8 D-4D mated with the auto box.
The 2.7-litre petrol engine generates 120 kW at 5 200 rpm and maximum torque of 246Nm at 3 900 rpm. When mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, it reaches a claimed top speed of 165 km/h and an average fuel consumption of 12.3 l/100 km. When matched to a six-speed automatic gearbox, maximum speed is 160 km/h and claimed average fuel consumption 12.5 l/100 km.
While the more powerful 4.0 VVT-i petrol engine is mated to a six-speed auto box and develops 183kW at 5 600 rpm and 381Nm of torque at 4 400 rpm.
