Spy shots of the 2019 Ford Ranger bakkie, including some of its photos of the underside, have emerged from the US.
There’s not too much to see on the outside of the Ford Ranger, as it is clad in camouflaging vinyl warp similarly to the performance Ranger Raptor that will be coming to the South African market.
The difference in these spy shorts (taken in Colorado – we suspect after some Internet sleuthing) however, is that there are photos of the new Ranger’s undercarriage. Covered in dirt it looks like a typical farm bakkie from beneath and unsurprinsingly it’s riding on a very traditional solid rear axle with leaf springs.
The 2019 Ranger is expected to have a range of four and six-cylinder petrol EcoBoost engines on offer and a diesel mill, although there are no details have been revealed yet.
It’s expected that Ford will unveil the new Ranger next year, possibly as early as January at the Detroit Auto Show although this is not confirmed.
